Lead Corporate Nurse Practitioner

Nicholas Kahl is CHPs corporate nurse practitioner and is a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Nicholas got his start in the medical field serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Medic. While enlisted in the U.S. Army, Nicholas was able to earn his Associate’s Degree in Allied Health Nursing and became an RN. After serving in the US Army for ten years he pursued his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ultimately Nicholas returned to his home state of Ohio where he graduated with his Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from The Ohio State University in 2010 with Honors. In 2021, Nicholas started providing care for incarcerated persons in San Diego County jail as a contracted Nurse Practitioner (NP) with Correctional Healthcare Partners (CHP). Nicholas has continued to serve the medical needs of the county jail population, while also becoming the lead NP for CHP. Nicholas currently oversees 15-20 nurse practitioners who provide medical care to the entire San Diego County jail incarcerated persons population. Nicholas’s leadership experience and passion for quality patient care has allowed him to become a highly valued member of the CHP medical and leadership team.
