Dr. Rafi is an Emergency Medicine Physician, with over 13 years of experience, who completed her residency at UCSD Medical Center. She then became UCSD's inaugural Biomedical Ethics Fellow, during which time she also earned a graduate certificate in Biomedical Ethics from Albany Medical College. After her fellowship, Dr. Rafi began providing care to veterans at the VA Medical Center in San Diego, where she quickly emerged as a physician leader due to her efficiency, aptitude, and compassionate care.In February of 2020, Dr. Rafi joined the San Diego Sheriff’s Department of Corrections and subsequently obtained NCCHC certification as a correctional physician. After a year, she was promoted to Medical Director of Correctional Healthcare Partners. In this role, she continues to provide patient care while contributing to the organization’s success and expansion, ensuring the safety, ethical standards, and quality of care for San Diego County's correctional population.
